Our Approach
As psychiatrists, we are are trained in a wide variety of psychotherapeutic approaches as well as in the neurobiology of mental illness. You will receive intramuscular (IM) ketamine at a psychedelic dosing schedule to induce a non-ordinary state of consciousness. Using psychoanalytic theory, Jain principles of non-attachment and non-violence, Bohra Muslim ceremony and curated sensory experience, we will direct your ketamine-induced psychedelic experience for the purposes of introspection and growth.
Prior to any ketamine administration, you will receive a full psychiatric evaluation to determine whether ketamine is appropriate for you. If you and we decide to move forward together, we will meet again to review dosing, your intention, consent forms and what to expect on the day of ketamine administration. We will also obtain a tactile and aesthetic history to customize the setting.
The day of the experience will begin with a brief physical exam, followed by a meditation, a review of your intention and grounding ritual. The experience will end with a light vegetarian meal during which we process your journey. Generally, this will take place over 3-4 hours. We will follow-up with your mental health provider if you would like us to do so afterwards.
We believe you should understand the historical place of this work, and your own relationship to that history - thus we encourage you to read the information we offer on this site. Your healing journey begins with the awareness that you are part of an unbroken chain of humanity and time. Combined with the proper preparation and right setting, a psychedelic experience contributes to the awareness of a social self in the larger world, which can be perceived as a spiritual experience.
Because most studies demonstrate that ketamine is most effective in combination with therapeutic support, we only provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as an adjunctive treatment to ongoing psychiatric and/or psychotherapy treatment at this time .
